Angry Why does my car stumble...please help me

Hi I have a 94 A4 T/A with about good 116000 miles on it. The car runs fine when the engine is around 180 temp but then it's at 210 or little higher I'll push the gas and It stumples at like 1600-2000 rpm. And then it's working fine. I know some one else who also has a T/A at my school and got him to drive it around a bit and he said it was fine. The car shifts fine. If I get on the highway and say the engine temp is around 210 it cools down to 180. But when it's at 210 i m trying to pick up speed it stumbles at that 1600-2000rpm and also If I am stopped the the rpm starts jumping around and the car trying to move forward then i got press the brake harder to keep it stopped. What you guys thing it might be. New plugs, wires, fuel filter, pcm, and opti. Opti took little water before but from the next day on it's been working fine and recently it started doing this..please help me out...I am out of idea's here....thanx alot.

I have been having a very similar problem with my 95 TA. Right in the normal driving range it would stumble and kind of hesitate and it idles rough. I recently brought the car to Pontiac to diagnos the problem and they say I need a new opti, plugs and wires. It is quite possible you may need the same.

My 95Z did the exact same thing yours in doing with the rpm's and temp and all. My was fixed when I replaced the 02 sensors. Something to try since they are an easy fix and not to expensive.

Get a scanner they help, I love my autoxray, there are many of them. I bet you have some knock retard or something, only way is to scan and find out. Good luck, you could also get a fan switch and run the fans to keep it at lower temps.

Could be lots of things:

Plugs
Wires
Opti
ICM
O2's
Coil
Fuel Filter

I guess start replacing stuff, starting with the least expensive....Or see if you are throwing any codes. Good luck.

Your car only has two o2sensors and there are in the headers or right after. Mine are in the collectores at the end of the headers but I have Hooker Longtubes.. Only cars after 96 have four o2 sensors.
