what causes a opti spark to fail when warm? Its a brand new opti from summit. motor will run fine cold but when the motor get up to running temp it will barely run(ideal), but over 2000 rpms it runs fine? bad opti or what help !!!

 

I doubt that's your opti.

 

sounds like o2 sensors to me.










90k+ on stock opti

 

but the problem started after i replaced the opti spark, i replaced the opti spark because it was missing a high rpms.

 

well it sounds like once it goes into closed loop its running like crap. thats when it start using the o2 sensors.




the opti isnt as fragile as people think they are. i know of a few people that changed them and it fixed there problem for a while... there issue ended up being just a bad coil wire.
