Why does everyone ask.....

Why does everyone ask.....
If car "X" can beat car "Y"?
There are always ideal circumstances and in those circumstance car "X" will beat car "Y"....but there are too many "if's".
You have to take into account not only mods to each car but drivers skill and experience, launch, any mishaps, etc ad infinitum.....
Instead of asking if a 94 Z28 can beat an 82 Corrola....how about you just race them and find out for yourself?
Don't mean to sound like an *** but there are far too many variables in a race that determines the outcome.
[/end of rant]

This is a general sweeping LT1 tech answer stating that the outcome of the race not only depends on modifications to the car but driver experience yada yada yada.

Exactly...which is why I'm saying there are far too many variables that determine the outcome of a race.
The best way to find out is to just race that person....not sure why people don't take the chance of losing a race. If I lose that does nothing but motivate me to make my car faster.
Here's a good LT1 tech question that I should throw in here for the heck of it:
My new Manley exhaust valves are from .050-.060 longer than stock. What, if any, effects will this have on valvetrain geometry? I don't think that it will affect how I set lash however.
Any ideas?
