why does car run different 2k rps and under after cc306?

i know its a big cam and a a4.whats the actual reason it runs different up until u get above 2000 rpms.and also when u hit overdrive around 40mph the rpms sit right around 2000rpm and the ride is rougher i mean feels almost like it kicks a little.i figure cause of the exhaust duration is so big but after 2000rpms feels perfect.please explain reason in mechanical terms.

did you get your car tuned after the cam install?

when you stepped up to that big of a cam you gave up some slow speed torque. Thats whAT the stock was good at. your yank converter should take care of your problems. also it still might be "hitting a lick" at 2000 you know how it acts at idle. hope this helps

Are the LT4 springs even big enough for the CC306? I have a CC305 with LT4 springs and im pretty sure if i went with a bigger cam the springs would of binded.

I had the same problem too....

i believe under 2K rpms and cruising, the cam is having 'cam surge' so it feels rough...

I really hope you are not running LT4 springs with the 306.

LT4 springs are good to like .530, CC306 exhaust lift is like .572. Hell, I run enough spring for a .730 lift cam just for added valve train dynamics.
