Exclamation Why do you 1.6 rockers keep coming loose?

I have been having a problem with these, they keep coming loose. Why would this be? Most of the threads on the stud show like 4-5 threads, on one of them, it's like 7 threads. What could be the problem here? I am really tired of adjusting these suckers all the time.

helpppppppppppppp

You may have a bent pushrod or collapsed lifter.

If I had a bent pushrob, wouldn't I have a miss to it?
If I had a collasped lifter, wouldn't there be a ticking noise?

I am curious to this

thanks

Did you tighten the center nut with a hex key?

Make sure you have them on the stud the right way. There is a recess on one side for the nut to sit.

When my lifters collapsed I did not notice a ticking. What would happen was if I was cruising around the rockers would stay tight but once I gave it WOT the rocker arms would loosen up. Well I pulled off the intake manifold and it turned out to be 3 collapsed lifters.

I have heard of this more than once. So double check that your rocker is on correctly with the beveled edge up for the nut to tighten up against.
