Thumbs down why did this happen?!?!

ok i was turning around on the road today cause i missed the road i wanted to turn on, well anyways, just for curiousity, i put one tire in the wet grass on the side of the road and left the other one on the black top, revved it up and spun the tires, well it only spun one??? any ides of why it dint spin both, is there something wrong with the rear end?

Posi. It wont give any torque to the tire with traction.

It's called limited slip. When both tires have traction both tires get power. When one tire has traction and one tire is slipping the power is sent to the tire with traction and taken away from the tire that is slipping. This is designed to give better traction and reduce slipping. It is still considered a posi, but technically both wheels will not always spin together. Actually better!! JMO.

dont worry... your posi is ok. like the guys said it takes traction on both tires in order to engage the posi and transfer power to both sides. if you think about it... you would have spun into the ditch if you had equal power to both wheels. the tire on the road would be pulling you forward where the tire with no traction would go nowhere which means you pivot on that wheel and into the ditch you go if im that makes any sense.

reread that... I would think the pavement would provide more traction that the grass... hence the one on the grass was spinning
