Something like a hotcam or cc305, ground on a 115 or 116 LSA would sound pretty close to stock. You would give up a few ponies - as you will with any cam that sounds stock.

Unless you are planning on turning 8k-9k rpms for 500 miles at time, why would you want one?

I've got a Lingenfelter cam with 211/219 lift, required some head/valve work and new springs, and has a 114 or 116 LSA forget which, but idles like stock, but when you put the pedal down it roars. Anyway, if you want some more info I'll get it from my buddy that built my engine, but in a mostly stock LT4 motor it produced 364 rwhp on the dyno. This is in my truck so I wanted as much power as possible down low before 5k rpms and this cam was the best for that out of dozens I had dyno runs for in an LT4. For more power up in the 5k+ rpms thats when you start sacrificing idle quality.

Most of the people who do cam swaps use larger cams because it generally isnt worth the cost or hassle of doing a cam swap for such a small gain, which is what most "stock sounding" cams would net you.

Hmm... my post seemed to go the other direction from the others.

I assumed he meant "stock car" not "stock" car, because a "stock" cammed car does not lope.

Maybe the original question should have been more clear.

I'm almost certain he means a cam that will idle like the stock cam in our LT1's.

If that's the case, what are your answers, because I'm interested in a cam that is similar.

Very good low-mid power up to 5700 RPM
Doesn't shake the car like crazy at idle.

CC305 on a 114 LSA?

ok, stock car. stock lope, not noticeable
still makes power that wont peak to soon.

stock cam is ground on a 116 or 117 LSA depending on the year i believe. so if you go with the duration comparable to the hotcam but ground on a 116 LSA then im with the other guys who think it would sound basically stock. cc305 is 114 LSA as is and ive been told its barely noticable. personally i like the lope. putting the cam in wasnt a walk in the park and ate up most of my money so i wanted a something that not only gave my car some bite but some bark too.

so why change it yet.

You can spend a lot less money and time on other bolt ons that will give you the same amount of power with no lope.
