How many of these LT1 cars are running a stock bottom end? I see low 12s to high 11s NA I have been to a couple of tracks and I not seen to many low 12s Lt1 cars out there that have a stock bottom. I have seen 11. 10 LS1 cars stock bottom end.
But I dont know maybe there are cars out there just not many of them. I also own a LT1 so I not trying to put them down. I just see people talk about these numbers they say they put down. But never take their car to the track to prove it.

Gimme a couple of weeks and I'll take TWO stock bottom ended LT1's out to the track and go mid-low 12's easily.

a lot more techonolgy went into the LS1. Heads are light years ahead as is the intake. You can get a stock LT1 bottom end to go 10's but it isnt gonna last. 2 bolt mains dont go very far. The LS1 benefits from a 6 bolt main, very beefy. If you ever get the chance to tear apart both these motors and really look at them, the differences are ver obvious. O BTW, 11s on a Lt1 are a piece of cake

I wonder if the primary reason for the 6 bolt mains is due to it being aluminum?

LS1's have better heads, bigger cam, bigger stroke, smaller bore, less weight, ignition system much better, no heat soak, better exhaust manifolds, aluminum ds, am I missing anything?

Ok with my last post it seems it may be confusing so This is what I meant. On a LT1 car with a stock bottom end. I say high 11s low 12s are posable Just I dont see one very offten though. As far as low 11s NA I yet to see that. I belive that would take a 400rwhp car that weighs 2700 lbs to do that. Anyone care correct me if I am wrong?

cliff- there are TONS of stock bottom end LT1s going 11s! my roomates head/cam LT1 6spd wet 11.3 @ 121

I think the reason why there are some many low 11sec LS1s is easy.. they tend to make more power, and they are lighter.. also, LS1 owners seem to be more hardcore. I have seen lots of LS1s show up at the track totally stripped. no carpet, one seat etc. I rarely see anything but LT1 race cars like that.

I would like to see that myself. Is this car striped or guted?
Stock Bore and stroke? I know a few people that would like to find out how to make their car run mid 11s with a stock bottom end and NA. Not saying it cant be done but almost unbelivable. But anything is posable with the right know how. Maybe this guy or gal needs panten this setup he would make a forutun. There are a lot of people that have 383s not going that fast. I belive Jason Warron has a 355 and on a 250 shot of n2o he is running in the high nines. What kind of heads stock ported or retro-fit heads? Is that car on this board That is running 10s stock bottom end?

The person that can make an LT1 car that fast should have so sort of shop. He could work on other car to get them up to speed and get rich in the mean time.

I have seen cars that are not near that fast in GM High Tech with stroker motors.

By all means I am not pretending to know it all but low 11s NA is fast for any stock bottom end and 3400 pounds
I have seen all out drag cars that dont run that that have been guted.

I am planing on having my engine stroked but I would like to hear how I can get my car to run low 11s that would be cool on just a 350 NA

I have had a few drinks never mind the spelling

Sar2k did have some very good weather too. The DA was well into the negatives. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think anyone has gone faster than I without any motor mods. I'm still running the stock throttle body and no tuning.....yet.

Yeah that is hard to believe but it seems possible. Strokers have gone 10's N/A even with at full weight. I think Joe Overton pulled a 10.0 or maybe even a high 9 N/A with a light and highly modified LT1.
