I think you somehow have the cam significantly retarded and are bending the pushrods at the end of the exhaust cycle......

I know the car isnt running but you dont have to start calling it names....

jk, Im a little more knowledgable than that. I have already checked the timing 4 times but it can never hurt to do it again.

I'm gonna rip everything back apart and check a few things that you guys have infomed me of tomorrow. thanks a ton for what you have already said and keep the suggestions coming...I want my car on the road.

I thought 612 springs were only good to .570" lift?

Re: Why Am I Bending Exhaust Pushrods!?!?!

That was my understanding as well. 0.541/0.576 lift for CC306 with 1.6RR. That would explain only the exhaust issue.

the heads he is using were my heads i sold to him. when i bought them, i was told they handle .600 lift. thats the only reason i bought them...so i could run a wilder setup someday.... however my new cam speced at .602 so i switched to beehives.

as weirdrich noted to me before, he switched the exhaust to 1.5 rr (.540" lift) and its still bending pushrods....thats plenty under .570 anyway

Did you get the timing chain set that has a circle, square, and a triangle at different ends of the gears? Those are easy to get swapped up pointing the wrong shapes at each other.

.570" depending upon installed height, even so they genarally allow .110" to coil bind after that number, I doubt that you are bottoming out the springs.

94 NO TOP Z suggested it and I thinking the same thing reading down the page. Those marks on the double roller threw you off. The 612s are supposed to be good to .600 lift.

Yes cmotorsports says they are good to 600... but i would just invest some money in 987s or some beehives for extra insurance.

Remember that ya probably have bent valves after contacting the piston's. Do a leak test to see.
