Whos familiar with stock 96 SS Exhaust?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm looking for really high performance (smog legal) headers and exhaust, but I already absolutly love the sound of my stock SS exhaust. The closest (that I've heard, which isn't out of a lot of systems) is the hooker exhaust, however I hate the look! I like just two polished tips (at least 3" wide) and not the little Y-pipe thing.. and I don't like the square tips either, just round. So anyways, now you know the look I like... how about sound? The kind that is a deep grumble like it's being struggled with to contain.. (like the hooker or stock 96 SS) Anyone know of any system that is like what I'm looking for? Thanks!

Not sure where you live, but check out the sig. The AS&M headers rock and they are emisson legal (for me anyway). I am partial to the "2 on the left". I would never change it. It is the best sounding system I have ever heard that is not an all out race setup.
I'd save some money and keep your SLP 2OTL, that exhaust is already one of the best flowing/sounding out there, you won't gain anything switching to another catback. With that extra money I'd go with a set of AS&M headers, the 2OTL only sounds better with headers
Oh ok.. thanks a lot for the replies! I'll keep my 2OTL exhaust.. maybe I'll just polish it.. hmmm anyways... I'll need to look into just how strick my emmisions are.. I heard hooker LTs are the best to go with if they come with the O2 bungs even though they aren't completly legal. I also heard that FLP headers are great... but I'll have to look into the AS&M ones now too... thanks again!
edit: where sells the AS&M headers? Anyone on the vendors index? Or do they have a site?

http://www.tbyrne.com & http://www.thunderracing.com are sponsors of Cz28.com and sell AS&M. For max power, you should really go with a longtube header. The FLPs are nice if you can afford them because of their cat/off-road pipe option.
Like everyone else said: keep your exhaust! You have nothing gain by swapping catbacks.
Fortunately for you, the 96 Camaro has proven to be the most reliable and best performing F-body ever made.

I heard FLP LT was the best to go with also.. so I'll keep saving for a bit.. but are the smog legal? I live in Ontario btw, so I don't know how many of you would be familiar with our emmissions, but anyways... I'll look into that myself. If there not to strick I'll get the FLP however if they are I'll go with AS&M... oh and I just orderd my skip shift eliminator
even though that has absolutly nothing to do with this topic... I hope the order form works if I give them a Canadian address... oh well, if it doesn't I'll just go by my dads in the states. Thanks for all the advice guys!
