whole optispark or cap n rotor
is it ok to just repalce the cap and rotor on the optispark or do i need to buy the hole unit? and is the cap n rotor you get at the local parts store as good as the dealer part?
My cap and rotor was very bad but the optical part was ok, the bearing was shot though. Get the whole opti and save yourself the hassle.
Just for the record I got mine from Advance auto and have not had any problems but for the price you might as well get the GM one.

when i took my opti out after 120,00 miles the optical disk was rusted and the bearing was almost falling apart. get the whole opti besides i have heard thatcap and rotors go for around close to 200 you can get the whole thing from samtaylor.com for 250 or so

The whole unit was only $197 shipped to my door from Dal. Definately not worth messing around with a cap and rotor for that price.
