Thumbs up Installed the "air scoop" today

I noticed a pretty good difference with this and the custom made CAI, a definate SOTP feel . So if anyone has not done it, i recommend it.

Misunderstood the message at first, though you paid $55 for a scoop . But yeah a custom intake is the way to go. If mine didn't already have one, I would have made one. Made one for my V6(RIP) out of dryer hose and a K&N .

Aren't you afraid of getting water in there?

well lots of stuff does get in there via the scoop, ask me how I know. Mine has slots at hte bottom to help drain water, but I imagine some gets in there anyway, I really doubt any would get into the engine, and the hi po filters such as K&N use water and solution to clean them, so it won't hurt them. Mine gets real gunky after 6 months, I mean so bad where you can't even see the pleats anymore Its just on big pile of sludge, but it cleans out so no bother.

no, i made it so that i could close it up if it were to "pour" rain outside, and sealed it with rtv. I also put a screen on it to keep out big particles.

I should have made my own CAI. Oh well.

Out of curiosity, how do people feel a SOTP feel from CAI? I couldn't feel anythning until I did headers. And then the cam was even better. Your assmeters must be highly fine tuned.

Exactly what I'm thinking! When I put my CAI on I certainly didnt think my car felt any faster. It seemed to rev a bit more freely, but I couldnt feel anything. Exhaust didnt do it for me either...

And people make fun of my dryer duct hose......
It looks like I,m an innovator.
I think you are just kidding yourself if you think you can feel it.
I am pretty sure mine helps but I would be hard pressed to tell if was or was not on.
