Who said the CC306 isn't streetable?

I just put this bad boy in and I got a little cam surge until 1400 rpm but this thing is perfect. My brakes are just fine and the surge doesn't effect my driving. I was expecting a monster the way people talk about it on here but this feels moderate to me, im starting to wish I had gone with the GM847.

LOL.......I agree and the longer you have it the tamer it will "feel". I have enjoyed mine VERY much. I have some injectors on order and I'm about to get me some 3.73's. That should help me out ALOT. Did you degree the cam in?

Re: Who said the CC306 isn't streetable?

I have talked to several people with th 306 in their daily drivers, and they all have said the same thing that it is tame enough for the street.

I think the big problem is, that most of the people who complain about it, are running on a crappy tune.

Do you guys think the injectors should be upgraded with some stage 1 heads with the 306?

Mike

Yes upgrade your injectors with heads and cc306... I went all-out with a 383 and 42#ers, and she's a BEAST! but very streetable except the little cam surge under 2k as mentioned above. Overall, very happy with this setup. Great cam!

are you guys talking to tame on a 383, or a 350? i could see it being straight in a 383 but a 350 , it sounds like it would be kinda rough!

Anytime someone posts about the CC306 not being streetable I always chime in. I have one and its awesome. For some reason you always get people who cry and complain saying its not streetable but I would bet those people have never owned a 306 or didn't get a tune eventually. JMHO

I am running on the stock injectors right now ...............so it can be done. But I'm only running on those cause I spent so much on ALL my other mods at once ($6000) it was kind of hard to explain to the old lady I needed even more money!

My engine has been bored.............0 over, so yes in a 350 it's VERY streetable in my opinion. Don't ask me how (I've already been called a liar over this once) but I don't have ANY surge.

Hell yea its tame. Even the auto guys are saying its not so bad, so that tells you something. I'd consider this a moderate cam, definatley not wild. I was expecting a gigantic lope and the car to stutter but pffft. The nay sayers had me all hyped up to learn how to drive this beast, this thing ain't bad at all.

Re: Who said the CC306 isn't streetable?

well i've been told the same as above.
it's totally streatable, cam surge has alot to do with the tune. i've also been told on a 112 lsa it sounds badder than it actually is.

should be good for 375-410hp depending on your setup.

imo

Re: Who said the CC306 isn't streetable?

So with head work done ( 258/182 @.500 )and headers added to what's in my sig would this be better than a hot cam kit for a mostly daily driver?

Re: Who said the CC306 isn't streetable?

Actually the 847 is much more drivable than the 306. The 847 has much better low end and mid range to it, while the 306 seems to pull extremely hard up top and lacks low end power.

It'd be worse on gas but ALOT better on power.

most would say yes, i haven't heard too many complain about the 306 for a daily driver, some say it's not aggressive enough if anything. but for most people it's perfect, auto guys may have to change stall for best drivability.
