Who makes Fabricated aluminum valve covers?
Who makes Fabricated aluminum valve covers?
So, who makes (and sells) some aluminum fabricated valve covers for an LT1 with the center bolt holes... Don't need to worry about the clearance for the alternator.
I'll be running the Jesel shaft mounts and need more room.
Thanks.

Moroso #68025. Pricey though.... $350 at Summit. I think there are less expensive ones available.
[EDIT] Summit # 440336 for $210.

My Cantons are very nice. $200, bottom of this page: http://www.cantonracingproducts.com/...sbc.html#65204
They also make a notched direct replacement for $240, but you said you don't need it.
Also, I dunno about the Jesels, but the Summit brand ones for $210 didn't clear my stud girdle, the Cantons do.

Re: Who makes Fabricated aluminum valve covers?
Thanks for all the info guys, very helpfull.
BilletFab (Jeff Johnson) is who my machine shop wanted to buy through... I don't like the engraving but I'm sure I can get it without that... but those fill plugs are hideous. I wonder if they have other (more plain) options.
The Summit didn't clear a stud girdle... I think the Jessels are a bit lower height then a stud girdle... I know a guy running stock black valve covers with some Jessels with some hammering mods and such.
I was planning on scrounging up some more valve covers (all drivers side) and having someone cut them up and weld them together to make "tall" stock valve covers to keep the engine bay looking "stock". Even though it is going to look bare with no AC, alt relocate, !ABS, !PB, !PS, etc...
I'm replacing my old style LT1 Canton oil pan, and getting a new "Monte Carlo" pan from them, so a set of valve covers will go nicely. As long as they don't dip them in gold irridate like they do the pans...
I was going to have the valve covers powdercoated in a black crinkle coat, similar to my black ceramic headers.

Re: Who makes Fabricated aluminum valve covers?
Anyone know if you can have the alternator notch and also run a set of shaftmounts? Also, if you space out your accessory drive with the LT4 Vette hub, will you still run into clearance problems with the alternator?
Re: Who makes Fabricated aluminum valve covers?
Well I went with the Jeff Johnson Billet Fab. Not bad... but not GREAT quality either.
The shipping company must have either dumped my motor on it's side or dropped something heavy on my motor because when I removed the top of the crate (grey plastic Schriber Plastic crate) the driver side valve cover was smashed in and destroyed. $330 with shipping for new ones... and Billet Fab won't just sell one... WTF is that about? I already bought a pair, one got damaged so I have to buy another pair?
I did get them without any fill holes or anything. I'll add my own "clean" ones later. Also going to weld on some fittings for a vacuum pump and vacuum gauge and get them powdercoated in a black crinkle coat.
The bolts that came with them also look pretty cheesy as the washers are larger diameter then the tubes that stick out the top of the VC's... Gotta find better hardware.
