Who here can port heads??

well haven't found anywhere in my town that ports heads and don't want to go to joe smith and have him do it when i have no clue how good of a job someone would do. anyone here port heads? its for my stock LT1 heads. what price are we looking at also? not sure how i want the heads ported- just want them setup for my s-trim i'm running.

or how hard would it be for me to gasket match my own heads? i know its easy to make a mistake and trash the heads doing it... thanks

If you want some good heads go to www.advancedinduction.com. AI is a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

You might want to rephrase that. Lloyd heads are a good price and work well for many but i wouldn't say he has the BEST quality. I have a set in my garage right now. I don't think they are as nice as my AI heads.

Lloyd himself has even admitted that AI does slightly better work. What you'll have to keep in mind is that you'll be paying for that 'slightly' better work. For the price, Lloyd is definitely the way to go. Will you feel a difference between a set of AI heads and a set of Lloyd's heads? No...

Its hard to feel a diff, when you can't get traction to begin with. If you have the money go with Ai you won't be disappointed.

So we can agree that they're both great choices. Those who want to save a couple hundred dollars can go with Lloyd's heads and those who have nothing better to do with a couple hundred dollars can go with AI heads.

LOL this is coming from a guy with stock heads. Hmm i have Ai heads on my car now and Lloyd heads in my garage. You are just going off of what people say. Phils cars are usually faster because his cars make more power under the curve.

i didnt mean that loyds heads were better (and not that there any worse). i was saying that his heads are quality work, not refering to flow#s but more to craftsmenship. meaning you dont get back a piece of crap head with shotty work. loyd has less overhead and lower his price.

and its alittle more than a couple hunderd dollar more like 6 or 700 hundred depending on what you get and that using stock heads (when i looked into it.)

im not saying dont use AI but i cant put my word on him becuase i dont have his product. people are very pleased with his product.

i think 11.76s with stock valves on ported heads with a little bitty cam is good. and i mean almost a hot cam.

Re: Who here can port heads??

I've had a set of Lloyd's heads in my possession before he started with his LE packages. I ended up selling them in order to fund an engagement ring.

This isn't from what people say, bud. My friend Vince, 97Z-M6, lives 25 minutes from me and has known Lloyd for years; as have I. Please don't speak on assumptions next time...everything Ive stated in this thread has been truthful and 1st hand.

Re: Who here can port heads??

do you care to share the flow# on AI heads.

and not to open a can of worms but you have ai heads on your car. then why do you have a set of loyds heads in the garage, saving best for last.

i wouldnt says AI cars are faster all the time.

So your saying your truthful first hand experience is because you know Lloyd? Does that mean you have even seen a set of Ai heads? You also said Ai heads are the same as Lloyd heads they just cost more. Yeah thats truthful Obviously this is just BS you are spouting. Not first hand knowledge.
