I leak a few drops from my rear crank seal. It's nothing to worry about. When you have a bad *** engine you always have a leak coming from somewhere.

Mine loses about a quart every 500 miles. I don't really care though, it's rebuild time!

The bottom of my timing cover is wet, but that's about it.

Mine is a very slight leak. Seems to be a few drops a night about 6 feet from the front of the car...dead center. Doesn't seem to be enough to even need more oil added. Dealership couldn't find where the leak is coming from, so they're gonna steam clean the engine Monday and then see if they can trace the trail.

mine leaks in the front up top down bottom on the sides out the little oil sensor unit thing in the oil pan out the back of the oil pan and out the back top of the engine somewhere, but not too much that i need to put more than a quart in every 3000miles so i dont worry about it yet

I feel sooo much better about my oil leak after reading the posts. I have a three car drive way and have to use the same spot because of the oil art work my car likes to leave.

I leak absolutely nothing! It leaked horribly a month ago, but I tore down the entire front end of the motor and got a new timing cover seal and new seals for the opti and crank hub, blocked off the waterpump seal for the electric pump, and put it all back together. Hasn't leaked a drop since.

I leak about 3 quarts in 2 weeks. It looks like my oil pan gasket seal... but there is so much oil under there its insane. I am guessing its real bad whatever it is. However, I am getting my engine rebuild done over winter.

Mine has leaked since I got it (used). I replaced the rear main seal and it is still there. Right now, I am in the middle of a heads and cam swap, so I am hoping that it is the intake and resealing it will fix it.

how do they steam clean it? i was told they only spray the motordown with a high pressure washer...that would kill the opti for sure...does anyont know places that really "steam" the engine and get it real clean for diagnosis of oil leakage..front main seal drip 5 drops every 5 months..no biggie i just want a clean engine bay and dont know how to clean the engine

Dude its an LT1, they dont run right unless they leak oil.

Same thing with harleys. A little oil never hurt anyone (unless its your rear main seal and it saturates your clutch )

Its a good excuse to get McLeod anyway
