140,000 by Monday next week I think. Its a 95 auto. Survived the water pump flood and from time to time I kinda sense a little missing from 1.5 k till about 2k then it disapears as silently as it appears... its been like that for about 3 years now.

Cheers

I think the key to a long opti life is that if you drive the car everyday, the opti doesn't sit for very long with moisture in it. Let's just say your car only comes out once or twice a week, and occasionally you might put it away after driving it in the rain. Then there is moisture in the opti which sits for a while and starts doing it's damage. But if you're driving it every day, this doesn't happen. This is one of the reasons I expect to get a long life out of my opti.

100k miles is a lot of wear for any cap and rotor. A cap and rotor change is normal maintnance. Its a shame they made it so difficult on the LT1.

144K and I totally agree that daily driving is what keeps it alive and well. My Z never goes more than a few days parked. Rain, snow or shine it's my daily driver. 8 winters later and still going strong and NO rust or NO opti swaps even after the water pump started leaking and somehow sealed itself on its own.

158,000 miles and thats cause I washed my engine bay down. I totally agree as well about daily driving. Letting them sit allows the to build up corrosion. By the way I think I'm the winner....

Edit: 1994CamaroZ28 got me...

I had 142,000 miles on the opti in my 94, and it ran up until I swapped it for a vented one. Does anyone want it?

98,000 survived the water pump going out. But for the past couple years its been hesitating at 1500-2500 and just recently at the strip after 4500.
