gm cars are just now getting those kinda of numbers (advertised) now, and I don't remember it ever being advertised that v8 got that kind of mileage when they came out, and believe that gm would have advertised it. When my car was an auto and I would actually drive for mileage I would never take off and go over 2500 rpm and would never go faster than 65 and that would be a 2k and never got over like 21 22 which is the median. Now the factory freak gas mileage cars would get a few more but not 10mpg. But honestly every car guy I know inflates mpg to make his car sound better who knows why they just do.

and really, you take the miles and divide by the gallons????? that is how it work?????? good lord i have been doing it all wrong

I got about 25 with 4:10's on a couple hundred mile trip. 6th gear is perfect with 4:10's, decent mileage and it has passing power over 60.

Had the top down half the way as well.

I have my original window sticker and it says 16 City and 27 Highway. I highway commute 50+ miles everyday and am lucky to see over 200 miles per tank. Lots of bolt-ons and bone stock internals. I don't see how you guys are getting these numbers especially with head/cam combos...????

I got 26 with the A/C on heading to Florida with over 200,000 miles on my car!
And to add to this, I didn't have it on cruise and was going ~80 most of the way. Got in a couple "chasing races" too.

I even remember the miles/gallons too because I DAMN NEAR ran out of gas in Georgia on I-185 looking for a gas station!

395 miles and right over 15 gallons = 26.333 mpg!

I got 33mpg back when the car was new (and stock). Had to do 80mph to get that. If I drove around at 60-65mph, it would only get 28mpg.

um no offense bro, but new GM cars dont come with full length headers, no cats, SLP exhaust, and cold air intakes from the factory either. i never said mine was bone stock. I can attribute a recorded 2-3 mpg gain from the headers ALONE.

I got 30mpg a few times back when I had bolt ons. Now after the cam I can do no better than 28mpg. City driving I usually get about 18mpg.

Mine has only gotten better after every mod...I average about 19-20 driving red light to red light now, and when I first got the car it was like 16-17. Haven't been on any long trips using 6th much lately, but last time out it was w/ out the headers and dynaspark/LTCC and I still managed 24 mpg going the Year One Exp. So not bad for 160k mile car.
