Question who can give diag on this one ?

i just installed my motor its been sitting for 2 years [ my battery is good ]when i turn the key i can here the starter beary turn over for 1 second then start clicking like the battery is weak but when i jumperd the 2 starter wires the starter turned the car over very well i thing something ground or purple wire can any one help with this one thanks very much............could a bad opti keep it from turning over..?

Bad opti won't stop it from turning over.

I would check over all your connections, make sure they are tight and corrosion free.

Possible the contacts on your ign. switch (in the steering column) are corroded.

Question

all contacts to the starter are good and the starter is new i took the purple wire loose form the starter and put a test light to it and it lite up very dim i put the test light on the large wire from the battery and it lite up bright i hope its simple. thanks againe for any input..

Reads like the contacts on your key ignition switch are either corroded or worn out.

could be bad contact on a ground running to the engine, when i brought my car out of storage i tried turning it over and it would just make a clicking sound, when jumped it would start fine, i figured it out that it was a ground problem when i connected the black terminal on the battery to the engine (alt bracet, valve cover, ect.) and it would start up perfectly.
