Who all has lost their trans after lt1 build-up

Just seeing if there is a pattern. I'm also wondering how many miles people have put on them after a build with no problems. Thanks!

Just keep a eye on the fluid color & smell. If it starts turning brown it will smell burnt. Thats what mine did after 4 hot lap runs at the strip. Time for a fluid change, cooler, & alum. trans pan.

i lost mine after longtubes, true duals, CC305 with 1.6 rrs, and 4:10's now i'm going with the turbo 350 conversion. i had just over 100,000 on mine but i guess thats to be expected with that many miles.

Yeah high miles and new performance doesn't always work out. I am going to use a cooler. The fluid in mine before always looked good too so maybe I'll be ok.

C'mon Mike, you know exactly how you killed yours! Bracket racing on ET streets every weekend for a year will kill 'em for sure (stock).

Ask me how I know

How do lose one? I'm pretty **** about bagging and tagging all my parts during the rebuild process, I can't imagine losing the trans! J/K

Sadly, I'm in the process of sourcing a new trans as a result of the new 383 with increased boost. I guess I'm not too sad about it though, it started going on the dyno, so once it's replaced it should be even better next time out!

I had to swap to a T56 after breaking mine 12 times changing to another one and breaking again 4 times. It was always the same 2 and 4 gear wouldn't work. It kept breaking the Band.

My old auto was no match for the heads/cam setup I did. It only had 50K on the clock and took a dive after my first trip to the drag strip... and this was on STOCK TIRES.

I did a T56 swap and never looked back

I Only Had Exhaust , 160 T-stat, And Fipk2 And My Tranny Went Out At 100k Miles.....
Good Reasons On This Post Though Why I Cant Afford To Mod My Car To Later Rebuild The Tranny...but If The Money Is There...then I Will Change My Mind Instantly...

Re: Who all has lost their trans after lt1 build-up

I converted to the T56 at 90k miles... already had the mods in the sig and the auto was working great. Well, 23k miles after the swap the T56 died!!! I didn't even race it or beat on it either! So now the ol' auto is back in there and hopefully she'll last for 2-3 years when i get out of college. Unfortunately though, i've resorted to granny driving only in hopes of making it last. I can't enjoy the power anymore dammit. $2800 went down the drain in that swap.... ouch
