Re: Who all has 100k+ on the clock????

Have over 219,000 miles (replaced speedometer w/ used unit so do not know exact mileage); bought car new in April, 1994. Was a daily driver until July 2004. Heads have never been removed, stock bottom end. Mods in sig. Hot Cam in @ approx 100K and nitrous added @ APPRX218K. Doesn't use oil, no leaks, runs and looks like new. People don't believe me about the mileage when they see the car, especially at car shows. Planning to race it soon. Building 383 stroker to replace this engine if it ever goes!

Re: Who all has 100k+ on the clock????

My car has 122,500 miles on it and I have had it since it had 83K miles on it. I have replaced the optispark twice (one was a defect) and done all of the normal maintenence that you would expect with this mileage. The car has some small mods and about 120 lbs of weight reduction. This is my daily driver and I am about to start racing it more and put the Nitrous on it.

Motor and tranny gave out at 120k after heads/cam and after 7k almost every day for 4k miles. Rearend gave out on street tire run at the track at 110k.

New 357 and rebuilt tranny going on a little over 1k miles.

109,000 new trans and 2800 converter at 106,000 ran 13.8 with cai and muffler. no times with cam headers and stall yet (well, a couple of traction limited runs that dont count for anything!!) would be running fine if my opti didnt corode and take a dump..... again

Re: Who all has 100k+ on the clock????

287,546 miles on the original LT1 motor and transmission of my 1993 Z28. Still used as a daily driver. No modifications (except sound system). Had first major tune up at 271K never had motor or tranny opened up, just routine maintenance and one fuel pump went out. It has been driven hard but never raced. I do baby it in town these days but I cruise the highways between 90-100mph on a regular basis. Never clocked or had horsepower checked but it still has too much power for the inexperienced driver. My 17 year old son lost it and he fishtailed into a barbed wire fence a few months ago. My "Energizer Bunny" has earned a second life in my book and I found this site looking for information on parts, modifications, and tips on how to proceed with my Z28 makeover. People tell me I'd be better off (cheaper) to just buy another instead of rebuilding this one but I think this car is special and I'm attached. I can't imagine ever driving anything else.

Re: Who all has 100k+ on the clock????

220,000 never been inside the engine, aside from intake oil leak. Started smoking alittle, uses a bit of oil, and a bit slower than it used to be. Still runs strong for the mileage. Bought the car with 36 miles on the clock. Been daily driver for 11 1/2 years. Can't complain one bit--although I do at times.

Re: Who all has 100k+ on the clock????

My formula has 108+ on the clock. Daily Driver. Almost totalled 3 times.

Pushing oil from the front seals. I'll fix that when I put in a lumpy cam.

Went to the track first time ever this year and spun tire through 3rd gear. Pretty sure it will do mid 13's if I can get it to grip. Pretty good for a runner.
