white smoke = oil
High RPMs mean higher oil pressuremore load
So oil is blowing by something..

Oil is probably blowing by valve stem seals.

My car did it on the dyno as well as an '03 Cobra w/ pulley and chip blowin' white smoke pretty good in the high revs.....was told it was probably something to do with valve seals but never got confirmation...

Friend said the Cobra did it because of the amount of boost.

I'll take a pretty educated guess here -- the cause is MOST LIKELY because um.....it's a FORD!

Call me dumb and all if I'm wrong, but I've had a simular problem only it didn't occur at high rev's... it was always there. Check your gaskets and sealings from any coolant linkage... Headgaskets in particular as they were my problem... If it turns out to be a gasket, depending on the serverity (which is probably low due to it only occuring at high revs when preasure is the greatest...) you can buy some sealing compound for it just to be budget wise... but if it's the headgaskets and they need to be replaced, tell your friend he better be ready to cough up some SERIOUS dough !

(total cost for me to have them replaced was like $2,500 + labor)
do it yourself and you'll knock off alot of cash.

Exclamation

I agree with Zdriver96 My car does the same thing but only after load on the dyno and it is winding down. I will make a pull, high rpm's no smoke. I let out of throttle and a second later white smoke comes clouding out of exhaust.

It is white smoke and we walked into it and smelled it and it smelled oil smoke not coolant.

This was explained to me as during the pull, you are sucking a lot of air into the motor, duh! when you let off it creates a back vacuumn which starts to suck oil, most likely through the valves guides/seals.

During normal driving and track runs my car does not do this. Only on dyno.

How can you check to at least kind of verify if its just pressure or if it is a coolant problem?

My old motor did it...my new motor does it. I'm wondering if it could be the back pressure from the valve cover breather that goes back to the TB?

Wow, did they rebuild the entire engine? You could go all the way through an LT1 for $2500 in parts.

what your seeing is a lite gray smoke, not white if you see white you would see it on start ups. the gray smoke is just excessive fuel burning off in the exhaust no biggy. I know some ones going to come on and say no that would be black, black is if your running rich. and is not being burned completely.

One of my friends did say it could be fuel. My a/f ration was at 11.8 if that helps.
