Anyone one know? I heard people mentioning taping the back of the pcm etc. I'm installing the calibrator box for my car and I'm stuck at this junction. Looked on shoebox's website but it only shows for a 95 auto. Is it the same place or located elsewhere.

If you're under the car, the VSS is located on the passenger side of the transmission about mid way up just aft of the shifter assembly. For M6 only of course.

Found it. My only question would be it's a 2 wire connector correct and the wires are green and brown or purple? Can't really tell but just wanted to verify before splicing.

Looking at the electrical schematic in the manual, it's showing the Input Lo wire to be PPL (purple) and the Input HI wire to be YEL (yellow). Two wires. If you can trace them they should go directly to the Brown Micro-Pack connector at the PCM.

I've already been to shoebox's site. It's saved as a favorite. He's got the pic of the entire wiring harness but I still can't make it out even enlarging.
If it's those 2 wires on the connector I shouldn't have to trace it up to the pcm should I?

 

Problem with that is that Shoeboxs' website doesn't necessarily have the proper schematics for a 93, as things can and do differ between 93 and 94+ vehicles.

 

Are you sure you have the right connector? Is the 93 VSS really on the passenger side? On the 94-2002's, it located on the drivers side:

When you talk about a green and a brown wire, it almost sounds like you found the back-up light switch on the passenger side.

 

MY FREAKIN BAD!!!!! I had the right sensor and wire colors, but I was looking at the drawing backwards. It's on the driver side, same location as I mentioned before. Sorry about the confusion.

 

No biggie I figured it out going through google etc. Fred you were right as always. Thanks guys for all the help!
