Where is redline on LT1 tach?

Where is the RPM redline on a Z-28 tach? The one in my Vega conversion is dying and I'm tracking down a new tach. Want to mark it properly before I install it.

Thanks,
Dave

6100-6200 rpm for stock. I belive if you have some programing maybe up to 6500-6600 rpm.

Thanks, Vinny. I'll mark it at 6500.

stock on an auto you can go to 5700 with a manual i dont think it cuts fuel until 6200... which is way out of the power band anyhow on a stocker.. if you have it reprogrammed, it will only be able to do 7000 unless you have fast or something like that its the limit of the stock pcm. the factory tacks are nowhere near accurate.

Stock rev limiter is 5850 on all LT1's AFAIK. Its pretty pointless to spin it any faster than that with the stock cam anyways.

Im in the right area this time....Im changing out my cam, specs are: 218/224, .495/.502 112 lobe, and I dont know what the powerband is yet on the cam, but say it was 6200. I have a 94 M6 with the bolt ons to back it up. I wanna know what the redline is of the engine without hurting it.

Thanks!

Forgot to include that the engine is stock, no internal work, stock heads too (getting new ones when putting in cam)
