Where to mount the cutout?

I just ordered an electric cutout for my '95 T/A and am wondering where to install it. I don't have a cat so I was thinking of putting it somewhere in that area. Has anyone else installed it there? If not, where do you usually locate it? I just think that the closer I get them to the headers, the better Thanks for any advice

That is where I put mine at. After I had my Cat removed I just installed it in the place of the cat. It has worked out very well and dropped .1 and added 1mph consistantly to my times in the 1/8th when open.

I have mine located where the cat used to be also. Picks up 7RWH open on the dyno.

i had mine put on right before it goes over the rearend and with stock manifolds and gutted cat I gained 15rwhp. also, putting it there won't create as much drone while driving since it'll exit farther back.

Thanks to everyone for the info! I'm probably gonna locate it where the cat went so I CAN drone out my passengers
