where to lift on engine to pull pan?
where to lift on engine to pull pan?
I'm going to be pulling my oil pan, and I'd like to make it easier by lifting the engine up a couple inches. I've got access to an engine lift, but i need some tips.
Where exactly should i attach my engine hoist? Would it be better to remove the tranny (M6) before i do this, or should i leave it in? If so, should I undo the tranny mount, or just remove the engine mounts bolts, lift up on the engine and hinge on the tranny mount?

Re: where to lift on engine to pull pan?
Just un-bolt the motor mounts, the tranny mount will flex enough to not hurt anything. Also, when I pulled my pan, I had to loosen the bolts on the sub-frame and drop it a few inches so everything would clear.
