Where to get Ported LT1 intake?

Are there any vendors who sell already ported LT1 intakes?
If so who and how much?

I believe Lloyd and Phil will port the intake to match their heads. Not real sure where to find a ported intake alone. Why do you need one anyway?

I need one because I have a 383 with home ported heads but the intake is missing. I could buy one and port it myself except my electric grinder motor is burned out. So I figured if someone sells them already ported I can get the engine together and in the car faster.

Ported LT1 intakes

I was surfing vendor sites and found two that have ported LT1 intakes for $250 but you get back $100 core charge when you send back your intake. Seth at Combination Motorsports and Racenet Performance.

We do intakes for our motors and heads that are done in the shop, i've seen some "ported" intakes and they are far from it.

The problems I have seen are that the "porting" is just gasket matching and the manifold ports have little done to them, welding is the only good way to get what you are looking for and then after that the guy has to get the port walls straight and parrallel. IMHO i've not seen one done correctly, or up to par with what the intake should be for the money you are going to spend. Jordon's are not cheap but he does them the correct way for the most part.

I've had "ported" intakes in the shop done by shops that have done some big motors that are in/famous on the boards and they were very unimpressive to me.

A LT1 intake is easy since you don't have to strip the powder to weld it up, were a LT4 has to be done that way. I know once I have one welded up and the thing all mocked up with the heads, the porting takes about a day to do.

Bret, for comparison sake, what does Bauer Racing charge for their ported LT1 intakes?

Since we only do them all out, there is no point IMHO that you should bother doing it without welding it up, out LT1 intakes are $350 and the LT4's are $450. That is with the ports welded up matched to the heads, ported and then powder coated. I do require the heads to be here though since I want to match the ports up exactly. I could do a LT1 intake without the heads here since I can just do internal work and not match the intake to the heads, since the LT1 has a square shape to it already.
