Where to get my new 383 from?

I recently threw a rod through my oil pan and busted the block on my 95 T/A. Ran the bottle pressure on my NX kit up to around 1250-1300 lbs and decided to spray her and see how hard she would pull... real hard until the rod went through the oil pan!!

Anyway, what company do you suggest to build me a 383 to produce 500-550 RWHP and handle upto a 200 shot. I am looking for a complete set-up.. I just want to swap my blown engine for the 383. Thanks, Mike

I don't know, but I better see a video at the track with 500RWHP + a 200 shot. Jesus... Good luck.

Golen has 383 short blocks for $2300. That's where I'm getting mine from.

An entire 383 from the ground up pushing 500-550 rwhp?

You're looking at a ton of money.

Take whatever you think it'll cost and multiply it by 2.

I'm sure the guys here with the built stroker motors will tell you the same thing.

BTW, I wouldn't use that $2399 Golen shortblock for nitrous.

The one for $3199 looks much more inviting.

After that, you have to take into consideration the cost of heads, headwork, intake work, custom cam, oil pan, new opti, electric waterpump, LT headers, exhaust, upgraded transmission, etc, etc, etc, etc... the list goes on and on and on...

If you're looking to make 500-550 rwhp NA and not cut corners on accessories, expect to pay a ton of cash.

AP Engineering is having a special/Group purchase on their LT1 motors right now, and pretty dang good pricing too.

Link to AP Engineering

LS1Tech link

I just had my motor done through them, and definitely give a two thumbs up for the experience and customer service.
