Where do these go?
Where do these go?
This is a 95 Camaro LT1 sitting in an 87 Trans Am. Today amongst other games like Try and make those headers fit, and guess where to cut the shifter hole for the T-56, oh yeah, and the party favorite, try and make those old AN fuel lines hook up to the new quick connects!, I was playing where does that wire go, or more like where do all these *^$%&%#(&%#%( connectors go!?
So I took some pictures, some didnt come out, so I'll retake them tomorrow.....
Anyways, on to the pics
Ok, I am homing that maybe these are color coded or something....
Here they are...
There are some more connectors like on the passanger side near the fuel injectors, there are 2 identical connectors just different colors. One seems to go to some rather large vacume solenoid, but I dont even know which one...I will try and get the pictures of them tomorrow...

Pic #1
Looks like the purple one goes to the starter. The gray connector laying down goes to the knock sensor. And the black "O" type connector goes to a ground. The black tubing with the connector on it looks like the ABS connector, The Square plug, umm not to sure on that one just yet.
Pic #2 - Can't see what wire / plugging you are talking about here.
Pic #3 - Those looks like the ones that go inside the car underneath our dash, not to sure what they actually goes to.
Pic #4 - Those that you have in your hand goes up on our passenger fender, once again not to sure where they end up at.
Pic #5 - Those that you have in your hand goes to the ground located behind the coil, There is a bolt that bolts the coil to the head that's where those wires go. The rectangle connector looks like the connector that plugs into the coil ignition assembly.
Pic #6 - That's looks like the MAF Connector
Pic #7 - Stumped on that one, maybe EGR?
Pic #8 - Holy crap!!, Thats a stumper one for sure. Maybe it connects to the ABS unit.
Pic #9 - Hummmm.
Pic #10 - Looks like the Air Temp Sensor plug in.
Hope this helps some! Good Luck

1. Knock Sensor, Opti, One ground, Ground for Starter (purple), Big Sqare one looks it goes on the TRANS.
2. Not very clear, but it looks like it could be the MAP sensor (top of intake manifold)
3. I dunno, but they are not for the engine compartment
4. ?????!!??? I dunno
5. All those grounds go on the coil bracket, the rectagular looks like the one for Ignition Module.
6. MAF Connector
7. Either IAC or TP sensor
8. I dunno, but it looks like they might be for the fans.
9. Probably IAC
10. IAT or ECT (IAT on Intake Elbow) ECT (on Water Pump).
Good luck

Well I didnt get your responses until 11:30pm central time, so needless to say, I haven't tried them out yet. However, the Opti does have wires going into it, in the only visible place from the top that there is. I didnt get a lot of time today thanks to mother nature downpouring in Denton, TX, so I didnt check from below. I know there is an empty connector on the air pump, but I need to get underneath the car to see what type of connector is there.
Here are new pics. If something shows back up, it means I couldnt find it, or I made a better pic of it (Stupid digi cam non-lcd viewfinder is off, If I put things in the bottom of it, they come out centered, so if I put it centered....oh well lol. I figured out where a bunch of them went, and found I am missing my canister purge valve....I have the solenoid, not the valve....annoying....
So here are the pics. I took these when I realized it was about to rain (Heard thunder off in the distance)so if they are bad, I was rushed. So here they are in no particular order!

In the second picture the connector on the bottom looks just like the connector going to my alternator on the old wiring harness, has less pins though, I considered splicing but then thought I'd ask first...
Trans connectors, is there supposed to be some sort of extension to get back there? (Do I need to get on painless's site?) I know there is supposed to be a CAGS header of some sort, but I will be programming that away. By ABS I am assuming you mean anti-lock brakes, which my car doesnt have, so if you know for sure that something is a header for ABS let me know, I'll tape over it
Also, that square 4 wire plug, there are 2 of them, I didnt just take 2 pics of the same connector.
One last note, It looks like I have a damaged sensor on the car, I think it was in the heads, but again, I was rushed, so its near the front of the motor, not the first cylinder, but the second one back from the fron on the drivers side. I am going to need to id it to replace it. I also neet to buy an IAT....sheesh, this thing is going to nickel and dime me to death.
On a side note, wow these forums are active, I couldn't even find my post I had to do a search! Maybe I am just blind though....would explain my inability to find these connectors....

BTW, the new pics were not visible from 1:00am till 8:30am Central time. They are hosted on my webserver which is using the UNT (University of North Texas) internet connection which went down last night, and nobody knew until 7:00am this morning...
#3 are plugs that go underneath the carpeting in front of the passenger seat, like under the dash... I bought a wrecked Camaro and they were all unplugged... Not a clue as to what theyre for, but you'll find that most of the plugs on this car are "idiot" plugs that can only go to one place ... Most are different shapes, or if they are the same shape , once you map out the wiring harness theyll only go to one thing ... Good luck
If its gunna be a while before you get the engine in and all running , well actually even if it wont, tape up the front of the throttle body to keep dirt/grease and stuff from gettin in there and casuin a big mess ...
Well, I finially did an intelligent search on google amd I think I found shoebox's site. I downloaded a wiring diagram, PCM output, and basically copied his entire site which I will burn to a CD, and use in the PC I have in the car. Thats right, a PIII 800 sitting in the trunk area
I am lucky though that a friend had a spare monitor that sits in the passanger feet area right now....in there he's got all kinds of pics of component locations, and just well tons of good stuff. the site for any interested is http://www.csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/4th_gen_tech1.html I wish I had gotten a link there right away lol...

Cory,
I just shoehorned a 94 into a 89 s-10, feel your pain.
It would be almost a sin not to get a helms service manual while wiring it up, it has pictures and pinouts of EVERY connector on that motor, trust me, i would still be fumbling with it if i didn't have the service manual. I actually used a 95 manual to wire it up, but sold it.
I ran 3/8 high pressure FI fuel line from the stock s-10 lines to the quick connects on the back of the intake, I know, ghetto, but it works for now till i can save up for a better looking solution.
I just ran the hose past crimp on the tube, then double clamped it.
good luck.
also, pull the pcm wiring diagrams and connector pictures from Rob(shoebox's) site, he helped me out when i couldn't figure something out.
between all of us, we should be able to help ya out.
