The alternator has one wire that plugs into it. In the wire loom however, it has two additional wires (black and green) that are hanging there. They were cut loose during a motor install. Are these wires supposed to go somewhere in order to properly charge the battery?

The car is '94 Z28.

 

Pretty sure those others are for the a/c compressor. The alt only has the one wire (besides the battery cable).

 

I replyed on LS1 but Ill reply here to, you said on LS1 that the Alt isnt charging, check to see if you have 12 volts with the key on on the small wire on the alt, if you dont have power there the wire goes to the cluster in the car, if you dont have the cluster in the car or if you put diffrent gauges in there the alt will not charge.

I pulled the Alt and had it tested and worked fine. I'ts obviously something electrical, and I think there's another problem too that may be diagnosed during that check.
