Where ca I get the elbow that goes between the MAF sensor and intake plenum?

I added an electric wather pump and it sticks out further than the original water pump. My mechanic cut the 18" nose off the elbow that sticks down from the elbow and taped it up because it did not fit anymore. I have seen an aluminum elbow without the nose. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement? Will the '95 corvette stock elbow fit? I think it does not have that long extension on it. By the way, what is that thing for?
Thanks.

Are you talking about the silencer that was on the bottom of the elbow?? If so, you can remove it and place the bottom part of a shampoo bottle( ie: Pert) to close the hole.... If you want an Aluminum one check at Summit or Jegs... They have them..

...or you can buy a factory 1LE elbow that does not have the silencer hanging down. ~$45 from Jason or Dal (search).

Sorry for my ignorance, what is 1LE? And is there a better part name than elbow for search purposes? How does the silencer work?

1LE is an RPO code used for a special package on the f-bodies. The 1LE elbow did not have the silencer. p/n 25147187 for 1995-1997 cars. The bottom is sealed up. How does the silencer work? Not really sure, but a lot of the GM cars have them in one shape or another.

1LE is a performance option..... The silencer quiets the noise of the air going into the engine...
