Where to buy piston rings for one piston?
Where to buy piston rings for one piston?
Broke one when putting a piston in and can't find a place that would sell me a set for one piston? Does combination motorsports or any other vendor do this? Got the other 7 on fine but I don't feel like spending another $100 to get a new set =/.
Re: Where to buy piston rings for one piston?
Ya my auto shop teacher warned me not to break any rings cause you cant buy just one set ... kinda sucks but well see my rings and bearings get here tomarrow.
Re: Where to buy piston rings for one piston?
I broke one once. I went back to my machine shop (where I bought the pistons, rings, rods and bearings) and told them the story, they gave me one. They said they keep some around in case that happens.

Tried that =/.
I wouldnt mind buying a set if the damn sets weren't 100-150. Why the hell are LT1 piston rings so much? A regular SBC I can get them for $35....=/
Re: Where to buy piston rings for one piston?
Already called combination motorsports, Dave is a great guy and he says he will get back to me on whether he can get me a set for one piston. No way im buying another set for $100 to replace one piston.
Re: Where to buy piston rings for one piston?
i ordered rings from summit once, and one of the rings was missing, i had 7 full sets, and 1 partial set.
i called every auto parts store in a 40 mile radius..nothing.
called summit, told them i didn't get one of the rings, and they sent me a pack, (1st, 2nd, and oil control ring) even tho i only needed the 2nd ring. for free.
so, you may try calling summit, they might charge you. but it'll be cheaper than a whole new set.
