I was able to go down to my local GM dealer, and the parts depart guys matched the GMPARTSDIRECT price (without the rape me shipping).

I think they netted me the entire hotcam kit, and a new oem timing chain, crank sprocket, and cam gear for like $675.00 or something.

I don't think all dealerships will do this, but it's worth a try if you like dealing with local people as opposed to mail-order.

I bought mine from www.gmpartsdirect.com almost exactly a year ago. They had the best price, somewhere around $525 shipped (I think) at the time.

However, it was on backorder and it took me over 3 weeks to get it. And at that time (not sure if it is still this way), their site did not show an item's status (i.e. if it is out of stock). I had no way of knowing when I ordered, and according to their policy, once an order is submitted it cannot be cancelled for any reason.

Because of this, I would advise against going with them.

Did you use the same cam as what you got? or did you upgrade it?
Also, What lifters and gaskets did you go with?

What are your numbers now after the HCK

Thats insane!! I had some guys the other night at the local hang-out try to say that a hot-cam kit will DOUBLE your stock horsepower. I gave them a dumb look and just walked away..true story!

Those Hotcam kits better include a forced induction setup of some kind as well.

I have one new in the box I have been considering selling. It won't be optimal with my blower, but it will sound good! I can't decide if I want to keep it or not. Shoot me a price if you are interested....
