Where to buy a decent H/V Oil pump?

i was about to get one off jegs but it was on back order.

So i figured i'd ask after i searched a little.

Where should i look for a decent high volume oil pump thats recommended for our cars?

Looking for one around 60 bucks with the pick up also if possible.

Its going in a H/C with a build motor. I read something about staying away from old style m55 melling ones?

Can anyone recommend one?

I hope you have read all the threads about HV pumps on stock pans and stripped oil pump drives. Unless you have very specific needs an HV pump is not necessary.

A stock, blueprinted oil pump, with high pressure spring, will supply adequate oil for a 1,000+HP application turning up to 8,000RPM. I have seen it done.

yes i've read that to. But it seemed to go both ways with some people saying they were having problems and some people saying they used them for years.

Thats what my builder recommended so thats what i was looking around for.

I was looking at the Melling ones that we sell at autozone. Was it the M55 or the M155 that had problems? I was looking on both and both had the M55 casting number on them.

M55 and 155 were both affected by casting changes. You need to go to the select series to avoid it. A 10554 is an SV pump and comes with a higher pressure pink spring.

Is there any place local that would carry that part? Or would it be only through mail?

I plan on calling some places tomorrow but just figured i'd ask if you could give any idea.

And on a side note The 10554 comes with the higher pressure pink spring in it correct?
