try to jump the clutch and see if it engages. just hook up the two wires from the clutch to the battery for a second. If it enagages then its something else. Is this a recent problem? If not and you are just now trying to fix the a/c after a while of it not working, the PCM may have locked it out. Try to reset the pcm and see if that works. If not try and jump the pressure switch to see if you have a bad sensor.

I have one off my 93 if you are interested. It has 70,000 miles on it. Let me know if you are interested.

I think Jason Cromer has the best price on them. They are expensive for a new one. I think around $350.

Are these very hard to put on?
I need to put on a new one. Is it best to have the freon taken out first?

AC compressor is easy to swap in and out. I bought a NEW AC Delco unit and it died about 16 months later. It had a 12 month warranty, same as the cheap AutoZone rebuilt ones, so guess what I replaced it with.

I'm not saying they suck; maybe I had one out of thousands that lasted a long time. Or maybe something else contributed to its early demise; I've had to work on my AC several times during the 4 or so years I've had this car.
Generally, I prefer to get new parts; especially a genuine GM part if there's not a better aftermarket part. But my point about both having the same warranty is worth thinking about.
And as stated above, Jason Cromer has awesome prices on GM parts.

oh goody - need a ac compressor too

I have the same model, 93 camaro z28.. ac compressor just died tonight.. doesn't spin.. so anyone that has a compressor that "works like a dream" (doesn't make any noise for sure) post your selling price shipped.. and you must be able to warrant it (must work as soon as it's installed on the car) I can only paypal. ship to city/zip anna, il 62906

Also, my fuel is running to rich, how do you reduce this, or do I need to put on a fuel regulator.. anyone come across this?

thats not gonna happen. Why would someone warrant something that came used off a car and got shipped to god knows where with (god only knows) kind of care, installed by (fill in the blank). I wouldn't. I would try to work with you though, but that can only go so far.

Someone would warrant a part if they were confident that it worked.. I don't want a 30,000 mile warranty.. I just want someone confident that it works. What about my old ac compressor? Could I just say it worked.. said sold as is.. and then sold it for 50 dollars.. It's very easy to screw someone like that.. Not something I would do.. but there are those that will..

As far as installing it.. I have a mechanic that works on my car that knows what he's doing..
