Are you talking about the one under the console?

There is one under the console, and then I think three other sensors. But I'm not sure where they are exactly...

The arming sensor is under the console.

There are two discriminator sensors: one in the upper dash, just to the right of the steering column support bracket and the other is right by the hood latch. The DERM is behind the glove box.

Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module ( the brains ) Monitors the system and provide reserve power to fire the air bags if voltage is lost during a collision.

The arming sensor closes at lower velocities than the discriminating sensors, to make sure that voltage is supplied to the air bags.

The discriminating sensors are the ones that really "feel" when you have a crash and provide a ground path to fire the bags.

There are no components that are mandatory to be changed after air bag deployment on our cars (unlike some others). Of course, any component that was in the damage area should be replaced and not reused.

A diagnostic of the system after all has been put back to normal might be a good idea.
