when should a xe230/230 112lsa make peak torque?
when should a xe230/230 112lsa make peak torque?
my car is having all kinds of problems.. just trying to put 2 and 2 together..
When the car seemed to be running ok except for being detuned it got 344 hp at 5700rpms and 342 torque at 3900 rpms... Doesnt the peak torque come on too fast???
Also how can your peak torque drop to 3400rpms?.. My car is taking a crap on me after the rebuild and i had it on the dyno 2 days after the 1st dyno it it peaked the torque at 3400rpms but with like 280ft lbs of torque instead.

Re: when should a xe230/230 112lsa make peak torque?
Just off the top of my head, I think mine peaks at the mid 5000rpm range. It sounds very weird that your car would peak at 3400rpm. That's barely into the 224/230 'power band'! Maybe their dyno has issues?
Re: when should a xe230/230 112lsa make peak torque?
There's nothing wrong with that. I get peak torque at about 3900 and peak HP at 6100. It's called having a flat torque curve. If you have one, the RPM at which you get peak torque doesn't really mean much anyway...my torque is within about 5 lb-ft of peak from 3300-4800 RPM. Picking the "peak" is like playing pin the tail on the donkey.
