When does a Moroso CAI or similar become a restriction?

When does a Moroso CAI or similar become a restriction?

I am curious....I recently heard from a knowledgeable person that they are restrictions....

prolly at that point where your making enough power to need constant air without restriction at all (like a drag car that runs without a filter). i would estimate somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 horsepower it would start choking it a little. iono tho. interested to hear an intelligent response....

K&N told us that their CAI with a bigger filter will flow 1300 cfm. That is ALOT.


A buddy of mine had a mid 10 sec LT1, he put my K&N cai on the car with no filter and it ran slightly quicker(cooler air)

How much bigger of a filter? And did they say how much it flowed with the filter that it comes with?

Just curious, cause I own a K&N CAI...

Curious, why didn't they test that theory on the dyno when they had the chance?

it would be interesting to see how much of a difference there is between the LTx-LSx intakes flow.
