Do I need a stronger starter?

All I have is said mods in my sig, recently my starter cracked in half (between the two cylinders) and a bolt severed in half. I am trying to find a replacment should I stick with another Lt1 starter or is it like "once you break one your gona break em all" so should I get a stronger Lt4 or mini high torque starter.

I don't want to spend more then $90

Are you sure one of those bolts (especially the one that was broke) was torqued properly? Ultimately no you don't need a stronger starter w/ what you have done.
It's also possible through time the starter casing developed stress cracks and finally gave out. Dunno...

Just order a starter for a 81 camaro 350 or something, it will be like 30 bucks or something stupiid, as opposed to the hundred plus for a lt1 starter that wont last for ****.
Didn't you have to shim it? Does it mesh on your flywheel correctly?
