When do you need to run colder plugs/ reduced spark plug gap?

High compression 11.5 scr and ~8.9:1 dcr lt1 350 heads/cam - no nos or blower
probably should go with the colder plugs...ngk or autolite?
and also what gap to use?

Similar DCR for me, and I've seen recommendations of .035 to .040 for that, on Autolite 104s. I've got them gapped to .035 for now, to minimize chance of misfires or arcing. Seems to start the fire just fine.
So far I have no problems with knock- however I have been babying thehell out of it and I probably won't get on it till it gets colder here in SC. Wondering what if any modifications you did to cooling system, etc to reduce chance of knock? what's your scr btw?
SCR is `12.6:1. 165 stat and lower fan on temps. It runs 180F if it's in the 70's. 185 or so if in the 80's.
I have been having a lot of knock showing up, but intermittently. I think my false knock is finally gone, at least mostly. Now, it's mostly on hot days after the car is fully warmed up. It happens off-idle and especially 2-3krpms part throttle. I have actually heard it a couple of times. I'll pull some timing eventually.
I do still have stock non-wot tuning. Do you?
Sounds like time to update your sig.
