When backing up I sometimes hear a "thud"

Is it possible my tranny mount is broke? Or at least ripping? I've never had this before but about 1month after having a stage 2 clutch and nitto drs, now when I back up somewhat fast, I hear a thud/thumping noise, and then its usually kinda hard to get it out of reverse. Other than that all seems pretty much fine. If it is broke, where can I get the polly or solid mount?

Always check your rear view mirrors first.

If it thuds under heavy foot going into gears, then it is the tranny mount...that is what mine did...reverse and all. I replaced the tranny mount and all was good. I don't know where to get the ones you listed, however.

LOL yea yea...im gonna try to find the time to get under there and look at the mount. It only seems to do it in reverse though. Im kinda leaning towards tranmission problems though because usually after it does it...its pretty hard to get the car out of reverse. It takes a good firm yank to pop it out. The rest of the gears are fine though. Only in reverse.

Seriously though. I used to have a 88 Camaro that did about exactly what you are saying. It would go kind of pop..Pop..pop as you backed up not really a thud. I took it to the dealership and they said it was the reverse syncros or something like that.. It has been so many years. They said it would get worse and cost money to fix so I just took it straight to anouther dealership and traded it in on a new 94 Z. I feel soory for who ever got that 88. the trany was only one of the problems

Does your tranny shake while this happens. Mine does it to but my tranny shakes, but its not hard for me to get out of reverse. It also happens when i make a right turn though.
