Wheel hop

OK i was wondering what wheel hop feels like my car has what i think is real bad wheel hop since i got the car. No one seams to think its normal but it makes a poping sound from the back when ever i hit it, the sound also happens when its shifts. it pops like 5 times too. is this just bad wheel hop?

P.S. the shocks and springs are all good.

wheel hop is when your wheels arent getting good traction but arent really spinning smoothly. so the spin and grab, basically "hop" from one spot to another. so no your problem isnt wheel hop.

sounds like maybe your missing a few teeth from the diff gear in the rearend.

be more specific on the sounds its making.

It pops under had throttle, so you cant hear wheel hop inside the car?

I would say wheel hop is more of a feeling. Like when you get on the gas hard and the tire grips then slips, grips then slips ect.

Have a friend stand outside of your car while you get on it.

If the wheel bounces up and down in the wheel well (tire comes off the ground) your friend will definately see it and you should feel it. Hard to miss.

It only does it when you get on it? Does it make like a loud thumping that you can hear and feel? Hold on to your center console when you take a turn while accelerating a little, if you feel it and it does it then, you got a broken mount. Sounds like you got one anyways though.

Not the dasboard, just your center console, where your shifter is. That will vibrate when you hear the sound if its a tranny mount
