What's your favorite final gear ratio?

What's you favorite gear? Which gear have you found, that breaks the most? I'm looking at getting new gears again (broken again). I really can't afford a 9 inch or 12 bolt. My friend, strips F-bodies for parts and can give me the complete third member, in whatever gear I what, for 250$. I've gone through two sets of 3.73's in my A4 (Richmond and US Gear). I'm mostly city driving, so I'm thinking, 3.42's?

Yeah, tell me about it. I was watching CNN this morning and they were showing some Cali gas stations. $2.50+ wasn't uncommon for premium, and more than one was $3.00+.

I'm thinking it will probably top out around $2.25 a gallon here in Jax by summer time.
I'm not looking forward to it.

Off topic (I know this is a loung topic). I supported the war and the current government, but I some times wonder if the SOARING gas prices are really a polical statment. That this wasn't really a war over oil and to prove that point, here's your cheapo gas for 2.00 a gallon??

I supported the war as well, but I don't know why we stopped with Iraq. We just need to conquer the entire middle east and call it a day, make the entire area into the 51st state. That way we can be rid of OPEC and all the other blasted rag heads. Did you ever watch Air Force One with Harrison Ford?

Yep!

I appericate everyones opinion, but if this goes political, please lets keep it under control. I'd like to get some feedback on the gears, before this tread gets closed. I know, I know, I did start it, my bad.

I like the 3.42's for an all around gear with the A4. With the low 3.06 first gear of the 4L60E, they still pull great off the line. Plus they work really good on the dope. See below.

My favorite stock gear is 3.42... 3.73 otherwise.
Motive Gear and Strange are the best ones IMO.
