Whats Wrong With My Ta Transmision.

this is what happend, i washed the engine and used a little W40 to clean cables and stuff, well the problem is whend i drive the car naw it wont go into 4rth.

my car is automatic, and it wont go into 4rth, il be doin 60-70 and it wont go into 4rth, is like computer wont send the comand, i think something got wet and screwed sensors,god knows what whent wrong, any ideas.

I think thats just how the tranny is, mine won't shift into OD until i'm doing something like 80+. BTW its spelled aqua

Mine will go into 4th at 35 under light throttle- of course I've never had any problems with mine, shifts hard as a rock for being stock.

That doesn't sound right, but I don't know why it would only not go into fourth and not have problems with any other gears unless something is wrong inside the transmission.

If it's a sensor, you're probably gonna need a scanner to see if one is malfunctioning, although I think the throttle position and speed sensors are what the ecm uses to determine shift points.

You could always wait a few days and see if something dries out and starts working again.

umm......mine shifts into overdrive at 29-30mph
