what's the trick to putting the opti boots on the plug wires???

I am trying to put together my Taylor spark plug wires and can't seem to get the rubber opti boots on the wires.

What is the trick to getting these together?? I have tried everything that I can think of. If I try to just push them in the outer coating starts to bubble right around the boot where it is going in. I Tried duck taping it and pulling the tape through but the tape just breaks.

So what is the trick??

Thanks
John

A LOT of silicone spray. I liberally sprayed the boots and the wires when I did mine.

Silicon spray works great. Some people said to put the boots on before you start putting the wires on the car- I did that and ended up taking all mine off because it was easier to cut the wire to length, crimp it, and then slip the boot on rather than try to push the boot way up on the wire and pull it down afterwards.

I used dishwashing soap to get mine to slide on.

I cut my wires to length, spray a bit of wd40 on the wire, slide up the boot, crimp the wire, then slide the boot down. This took me maybe 15 minutes after cutting all the wires to length..
