Question What's some good springs that won't lower my car?

I am going to replace my suspension, but I do not want to lower the car. If I have to, I'll accept up to ~.75 inch drop. I don't want to lose anymore ground clearance, it's already terrible due to the headers/ypipe.

I really don't want to have to pay a premium, I just want good springs for the street.

Thanks.

1LE springs seem to be your best bet?

you want better handling, not weight transfer I assume?

Well, I want stiffer-than-stock springs. I don't want body roll during turns and I don't like the bounce when I tap the brakes.

Right now my stock suspension has 70k miles and I think it's time to change them because the car is real bouncy and soft.

One thing I was concerned about was getting springs that are not designed to lower the car, but they'll actually raise it a bit. I definitely don't want it to be raised at all. When I look at an SS or any LS1, it seems as if they are higher than my car. Maybe it's because of the wheels of the SS and the lighter weight of the LS1. But anything that lowers it less than 1 inch would be acceptable.

Thanks

if all you want to do is cure the problems you describe you might be able to jsut get away with some good Bilstein shocks....

but i plan to do the bilsteins and 1LE (sitting in the closet now) to improve my handeling but not lower the car...

something else - the rear passenger side is lower than the rear driver side. I've heard others say this too, it that normal?

T Byrne has the SLP level one kit on sale for $599. Check the GP forum. It won't lower the car more than .75 and the springs and shocks are matched to work together.

I'd recommend checking out the autocross section of this site, there's all the information you need for F-body suspension. I plan on using the stock Z/28 springs with Bilstien HD shocks and a 35mm front sway bar, with a good set of tires this a huge improvement over factory. You can tighten things up with SFC,STB,LCA,PHB,TA,Prothane bushings, etc. too. I'd guess most of your problems are shock related, my car has 31K miles and the factory DeCarbon shocks are completely clapped out (brake nose dive and all).
