I remember when i was changing out my headers, on the stock passenger side there was a pipe that came around the bottom part of the exhaust manifold. It's currently unpluged (AS&M didn't have a opening for it).

I'm guessing it's the air pump, anyone know what it actually is?

 

is it at the back of the engine on the pass side?

Yes, it's in the back, and hooks up to the bottom of the collector of where the stock manifold would be.


I thought the EGR ran from the top of the headers.

 

top of theheaders is A.I.R.

 

So whats teh EGR do?

 

EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

It's used to reduce combustion temperature and pressure to control the formation of NOx emissions.

 

So that would explain why i failed the emission test 3 times in a row. Thanks
