What's this? Opti?

Lately the 97 (45k miles) has been having some problems. It began with just the car stumbling a bit at startup. Then it got bad when I went to start the car and got nothing. I jiggled the battery cable a bit, started right up. Also at low speeds I'll loose power stearing, but I thought that just might be the PS pump.

It was ok for a couple days, then it happend again. Another jiggle, started up. This has become more and more frequent, so I took the battery cable off, doesn't seem to be any corrotion, connected it up tight. I went to start the car, and it dies. So I started it up and gave it a bit of gas to keep it going, but it will pulse at idle untill it finally shuts off after a few seconds.

Is it Opti? what else could it be? Could it cause the power stearing problem?

I'm going to mess with it a little more tomorrow, if nothing I'm taking it in on the extended warrenty.

Thanks for your help.

Man if you got a waranty, I would just do that. Other than that, I don't know a easy solution.

If idle gets low enough, I'm sure it would affect the PS. If you have a warranty, use it.
