What's the normal alternator voltage for an LT1?

My indicator keeps showing 13-14v values all the time. It should be around 12V right? My indication shows something may be wrong or?

I'm asking because i've burned through 4 low beam sealed beams in the last year and they are not that cheap. I figure they cost that much and are SEALED especially to last longer... It's getting ridiculous and I can't find anything to blame except the frigging high voltage

13v-14v is normal. If it reads 12v your charging system is not working.

It takes 13.9 to 14.2 volts to keep the 12 volt battery charged.

Yep - if it reads 12V all the time you're running off of the battery.

i cant tell you what is burning out your headlights but i feel your pain

when its cold here (-20 - 0 degrees F) when i start my car it will show well over 15 volts and i burn them out every once in a while too

little hint for ya the next time one of those sealed beams burn out, buy yourself regular 9006's for the low beams and silicone them in the existing housings it's about a third of the price around here
