You could do some suspension stuff (some), buy a cutout w/qtec, or if you have a job, just save for the headers. They'll get you the biggest gain over anything you could do now.

You could also put in a lower temp. thermo and some coolant additive (Water Wetter or Purple Ice). I know how it is to be in college and have no money. Luckily, I get some extra through my scholarship. I need to get a job so I can get back into the mod war .

I disagree with the low temp thermostat...I haven't had a use for one here in OK sure my temp goes up some when its 105* but as long as I'm moving its down below the 210 mark all the time...living that far north you'd definately want the stocker back in come winter time so unless you wanna switch every 6 months (which isn't hard) I'd keep the stocker in there its plenty adequate for daily driving and there is such a thing as running too cool believe it or not.

dont know about that 105* thing but down here in texas its about the same temp but the humidity is a b!tch. i just replaced my radiator a month ago and my a/c is messed up also. but if you dont want the stat just rig up a fan switch. the switch really helps here in tx when there is alot of traffic, before, the switch kept my temp went to 190-200 in traffic and now it stays at 160-170 w/stat and switch.

yea 173 k, all driven by my 50 yr old uncle, so it was babied it's whole life, although i do have about 3k in the bank in case something would happen. I'm gonna wait to do the big mods(lt's,clutch, rebuild?) this spring in case i also need money for school related items. I just wanted to do a few thing while it is still warm here in wi, which is not for too much longer. I'm going to the track next weekend so i'll see what kind of times i can rip off with 173k and 150k on the stock clutch

If i was to do the sfc's, which ones do you guys recomend? Are the bolt in ones as strong as the weld in when they are installed? I would like to install them myself but i don't have a welder.

I would get weld-in, I have heard that the bolt holes can elongate over time
